Welcome to my author page. My name is Lowell Tillman Jr. but if you’re here you probably already knew that. I’ve been writing stories both long and short for a very long time. Recently, about six years ago in 2004, I began to release my first five-part series called the Traveler. It was inspired by the loss of my mother to cancer. The theme for the science fiction series is overcoming life’s challenges and features creatures that take people away randomly. For me, these monsters were symbolic as a form of cancer for the stranded planet dwellers.
In 2017 I completed two more novels called the Wintertide and Hiding in Plain Sight both of which are being queried to agents and publishers.
My most recent release is Frankie the Fire Hydrant, a children’s early reader book. This story shows the hardships a fire hydrant endures while overcoming bullying.

Frankie is a typical town fire hydrant, and like all other fire hydrants he dreams of someday putting out a fire. Frankie does his best to keep his hopes up, despite the local dogs that play tricks on him every day.
​ Many generations ago, a spacecraft filled with evacuees fled from what used to be planet earth. En-route to their new home they were forced to crash-land on a desolate desert planet. Immediately after landing they were attacked by an unknown beast in a misty, dusty cloud. It is only by continually moving that they were able to survive. A giant machine The Traveler was constructed from the remnants of their crashed spacecraft. It is in a constant state of reconstruction and addition, as it can never stop moving. When they do stop, it is only long enough to pick up raw materials. The machine, several stories tall and several blocks wide became their only home. Many have lost their lives to build The Traveler, and after forty years the population has grown to over 4000 people. Now unseen dangers await them at every turn, and not all of them are on the planet.
